With "Motor/Nighttime World Vol. 3," Robert Hood follows up on the two previous releases from Cheap (Vol. 1) in 1995 and M-Plant (Vol. 2) in 2000. In this third installment, he fuses his classic minimal techno with playful jazz moods and shadowy downbeat atmospheres. This time, Hood was inspired by Julien Temple's BBC documentary "Requiem for Detroit" (2010) about the decline of the birthplace of techno, which was once the fourth largest city in America and, as the thriving industrial and economic center known as "Motor City," embodied the American Dream. The album is released as a CD in a glossy digipak and as a deluxe 3LP set in a glossy cover with differently printed inner sleeves, pressed on 180g vinyl.
